IHE is pronounced Eehay. It is derived from the Igbo language of Nigeria, and IHE means Light. IHE signifies the absence of darkness. It signifies enlightenment, knowledge, wisdom, intelligence and spiritual purity.
We chose IHE to symbolize the role of science in dispelling myths, superstition and irrationality.

About us
During the 17th century, scientific discoveries, such as Newton’s laws of motion, brought Europe out of the “Dark Ages” into the “Age of Reason” and “Enlightenment.” Since that time, advances in the sciences have led to progress in all areas of human endeavor including industry, health, the environment, travel, communications, agriculture and economics, and our quality of life has improved greatly. IHE JOS aims to aid support these advances through dissemination throught this website.
Our Services
IHE Journal of Science and Annual Science Fair is dedicated to fostering academic excellence and innovation within the scientific community. The Journal provides a platform for publishing peer-reviewed research across various scientific disciplines, showcasing the intellectual contributions of students and faculty. The Science Fair, held annually, offers students the opportunity to present their research projects, engage with industry professionals, and compete for recognition.
